Surprises at Patapsco Valley State Park
Highlights from Winter’s (Re)Connect with Mother Nature Workshop & Nature Informed Event
One thing Nature demonstrates regularly is that “small” does not mean “weak.” We were at the park for a short time, just about an hour, and yet we identified several benefits to our bodies, minds and hearts. We were a small group–six adults and my children–yet we gathered a large amount of trash. We enjoyed nature while learning and reflecting on the indigenous population of the area, our eco-identities and practices of reciprocity. We did a lot in a short time and found several surprises…including a small pottery dish, large pieces of iron rebar and several dirty diapers. Yuck!
Patapsco Valley State Park–Avalon Area was a wonderful host for my “Helping Ourselves by Helping Nature: Reciprocity” event and we will be back. Look for this area to be a POP-UP session location this Spring and Summer!
