Inclement Weather Policy

Genuine Connections Psychotherapy operates from Prince George's County, Maryland. This area commonly experiences unpredictable and sometimes dangerous weather (ie, severe storms; tornado warnings; snow or ice; blizzards; derechos).

There may be times when sessions—virtual and in-person—are canceled or cut short due to weather or weather related technical difficulties (ie, internet, power). In most cases, a video or phone session can be arranged. However, there may be the rare occasion that neither are possible.

Should this or any weather related issue occur, I will use professional and fair judgment in assessing a full session fee, partial session fee, waving the fee or rescheduling the session. Rescheduling will be based on availability as well as environmental factors such as availability of power. Additionally, the therapist reserves the right to close, cancel or reschedule appointments based on closings issued by the local government and school jurisdictions (ie, when my children’s school closes, I may also need to close).
